LiveChat

  1. Log into partners.livechat.com.
  2. Go to Solution --> Licenses --> Create a License

    Chat 1
  3. Select LiveChat as the option and click Next ->

    Chat 2
  4. Select "You" as the payment option and click Next ->

    Chat 3
  5. Fill Out the Client's Company name in the first form field and use a pmw.webmaster alias for the email. Do NOT put the client's email in that form field or we won't be able to get access to set up the account. The alias should be as follows: pmw.webmaster+companyname@kohva.com. Click Next ->

    Chat 4
  6. Do NOT invite any users. We will do this upon launch of the website or launch of the product if it's a one-off setup for a package upgrade. Click Create License

    Chat 5
  7. Log in to the pmw.webmaster@kohva.com email and check under the label for "LiveChat". There will be an email there that shows you have been invited to set up a LiveChat account. Go ahead and follow the prompts to set up the password using our typical company password at whatever time you are doing the setup.

  8. Once that password is created, if you are not automatically logged in, please go to https://accounts.livechat.com/signin and log in using the alias + password combination you have set up.

  9. Once logged in, go to the settings icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the page.

    Chat 6
  10. Go to Website Widget --> Customization --> Appearance. Customize the clients widget by selecting Smooth, Bubble, Light or Dark Theme, and select "More Colors" to customize it to match the client's branding. Make sure colors are ADA compliant please so they can be read.

    Chat 7
  11. Go to Channels --> Install LiveChat --> Copy Code. Paste that code into your notes somewhere for now, we will need ONLY the piece from window.__lc.license = 1234567 and we will just need those numbers or letters, whichever it is for the License ID for the account you set up.

    Chat 8
  12. Open the site in Atom. Open every template and add class="lazy-chat" to the body of every template. If the client is a Market Leader, do not add that class to the body of the rentals template.

    Chat 9
  13. Open the master js file. Search to see if the LiveChat code is already on there. If not, go ahead and add the livechat code from here under Chat Widget. Replace the License ID with the one that you grabbed from within the client account and saved in your notes. The rest of the code that was copied from the LiveChat account is not needed.

    Chat 10
  14. Update the versioning in the resources snippet. Go back to the site and refresh. It should not load right away. Once you start to scroll, the chat should then load and appear in the bottom-right-hand corner of the website.
  15. If you are building a NEW SITE, make a note in Monday to add the client as a user when launching the site & inform Mikayla upon launch to add the Credit Card information to the chat AFTER you've added the user.
    • To add the client as the user, you will need to reach out to LiveChat support via our partner portal and provide them with the license number and let them know you would like to remove the pmw.webmaster alias email off the account as a user and provide them with the client's email you would like to add. They will be able to update this for you. Once that is done, let Mikayla know to add the Credit Card info.
  16. If you are UPGRADING AN EXISTING SITE with a new package that has LiveChat, immediately reach out to LiveChat Customer service through the partner portal to change the user once it's installed on the client's site.
